From: Adrian Orchards Summer 2013
Summer is here and fresh fruits and vegetables are ready to begin. We opened our 88th season on July 8th with Lodi apples for pies and sauce, frozen cider, Southern peaches, tomatoes Indiana melons, and corn. We are very pleased we did not have a repeat of last years devastating freeze. A cooler, wetter spring and early summer have slowed fruit maturity to near normal times. If you are planning to fill your freezer with peaches, cherries, blueberries, vegetables, etc., and time is short, you may want to consider the frozen fruit list that is available upon request. The quality is excellent and a great time saver.
We should be open into February 2014.
Our own blackberry harvest should start around July 15th and last a month or so. These are a huge berry and simply luscious. We have planted our terrific sweet corn, melons, peppers, tomatoes and other summer/fall crops to harvest throughout the summer and into the fall season. Some of the anticipated harvest dates are listed below. We will do our utmost to continue the same quality tradition as in years past.
The 2013 frozen fruit and vegetable list is available upon request. We will gladly mail one to you. We will have a complete list in the store should you want an item not listed. The order deadline for the 1st shipment is Aug. 18th. All orders must be placed and paid for in full by this time. THE PICK UP DATE WILL BE THURS., AUG. 22ND . The 2nd shipment order deadline is Nov. 3rd with a pick-up date of Nov. 14th . Your order must be picked up the same day as the delivery truck arrives as WE DO NOT HAVE FREEZER FACILITIES. Remember that we cannot guarantee quantity or availability of specific items, especially in the second shipment.
Please keep in mind that as a local grower, we depend on you, the customer. From the fields directly to your table, we offer the freshest and highest quality fruits and vegetables available. Again, we should be open into February 2014.
We sincerely appreciate your patronage and look forward to seeing you soon!
