At the beginning of last season, George and I were looking to retire and we were hoping to find someone to take over our business. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic we were unable to entertain prospective buyers. We are still pursuing this goal. Therefore we will again be open for business this year on a scaled back basis. We hope to provide you with the same quality products that you have come to rely on here at Adrian Orchards.
Due to widespread spring frosts and freezes, apples, peaches, and some berries are in short supply in Indiana. We are trying to source as much fruit as possible locally. We hope you understand that as a result of the shortage, prices have risen. . Summer is here and fresh fruits and vegetables are ready. We opened our season on July 10 with Evercrisp apples for fresh eating, frozen cider, southern freestone peaches, tomatoes, Indiana melons, and sweet corn.
We will have corn, melons, peppers and other summer/fall crops available throughout the summer and into the fall season. Some of the approximate harvest dates are listed below. We will do our utmost to continue the same quality tradition as in years past.
We will have the U-Pick Pumpkin patch open starting October 3rd, 2020
We will not be carrying Coloma Frozen Fruits and Vegetable products this season.
Unfortunately due to the pandemic slowdown and concerns for safety we will not be hosting our annual Harvest Fest this year.
Please keep in mind that as a local grower, we depend on you, the customer. From the fields directly to your table, we offer the freshest and highest quality fruits and vegetables available. Again, we will be open at least through Thanksgiving 2020.
We sincerely appreciate your patronage and look forward to seeing you soon!

Did you know...Adrian Orchards is home to the Guinness World Record holder for the fastest apple picker?.... It’s true! George J. Adrian picked 365 ½ bushels (15,351.5 lbs.) of apples in 8 hours on Sept. 23, 1980. His record still stands today, 40 years later!
George and Monika are seriously considering retirement due to health concerns and are actively looking for a buyer for Adrian Orchards.
Adrian Orchards has served families, businesses and institutions of the Indianapolis area for three generations, offering quality products and expertise to customers here in this location, for nearly 100 years. Our store has enjoyed the solid support locally and is an important asset to our community. Since 1925 it has provided our family with a living, but now it is time to retire as we are in our late 60s and early 70s. We have no familial succession and therefore have decided to sell in hopes that someone else will continue the tradition of Adrian Orchards.
In the meantime, if you or anyone you may know is seriously interested in this venture, please contact Ryan Moriarty at Weichert Tralee Realtors at 317.883.333. We will continue to operate this season on a scaled back timeline. We will be open through Thanksgiving this year. We will not be open after New Year’s as in years past.
