_The Orchard Nearest the Heart of Indianapolis since 1925! Celebrating 89 years of serving the Greater Indianapolis Area!
Established in 1925 by George and Edith Adrian and currently in its 3rd generation of family ownership, Adrian Orchards is still the "Orchard nearest the Heart of Indianapolis" and home to the Guinness Record Holder for "World's Fastest Apple Picker" George J. Adrian. Currently owned and operated by George J. & Monika Adrian, Adrian Orchards is still providing the Crossroads of America with the finest apples, peaches, cider and more for 86 years and counting!
And did you know
Adrian Orchards is home to the Guinness World Record holder for the fastest apple picker?.... It’s true! George J. Adrian picked 365 ½ bushels (15,351.5 lbs) of apples in 8 hours on Sept. 23, 1980. His record still stands today.
Just to let you know that we have set a date for our last day of this season...FEBRUARY 9... We will re-open again in early July with summer apples, cider, peaches, etc.
In the meantime you still have time to take advantage of the 2 for 1 sales on apples, nuts, and other dry goods, that we have going on now. George is still pressing cider and if you are running out of firewood, we still have SEASONED firewood available.
Take care...Hope to see you soon...stay warm.
I hope you are keeping warm. The older I get the less I like the super cold. I used to love it, but then I USED to be young and beautiful :) since we have had numerous requests for firewood I thought I'd send out some news...Yes, we have several ricks .
(a full 4 ft x 8 ft) of seasoned firewood available here at the market. Cost is $75 per rick FOB, seasoned is the key word here.
Also, in the market we still have the apple sale going on and have also included selected dry goods, such as nuts, caramel corn, corn nuts, just to name a few, in our buy 1 get 1 free sale, time to stock up as we will be closing for the season in February 2015 (we will open again in July 2015).
Hope to see you soon...stay warm...please check on elderly friends and neighbors during these vicious cold days...you'll earn some extra karma points.
Take care, Mrs. A
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Hope you enjoyed the holidays. Here's hoping for a safe and healthy 2015.
Starting Monday, January 5th, we will start our apple sale. This year we will include all package sizes...3#, 5#, 10#, and 1/2 bu. boxes...all will be buy one, get one.
All those who receive this notice will have a head start on varieties because selection is limited and the ad will not appear in the paper until Wednesday and Thursday. So, if you have a favorite and you want to stock up on, this is the time.
While we were making gift baskets, George discovered a small treasure trove...a few bushels of HONEYCRISP that had been set aside for shipping and gift packages. These extras will also be available but NOT at the buy 1 get 1 price but at the regular price.
George is still making fresh cider and will continue until we close for the season.
Our winter store hours are now Mon-Sat...10am-6pm and Sunday...12noon-5pm.
Our last shipping week will be the week of January 5...so if you need to send a healthy New Years wish to someone, that will be the time.
In the meantime stay warm, travel safely, and hope to see you soon.
PS: We anticipate closing for the season around February 9th or 10th.
Hope you have your shopping done, However, if not we will be here Christmas eve from 9am-2pm, just in case! We will be closed Christmas Day and re-open December 26th at 10am. That will be the beginning of our winter hours, Mon-Sat 10am-6pm and Sun 12pm-5pm.
We are still making fresh cider and have a large assortment of apples for eating and cooking. I will be available on Christmas Eve to make custom fruit baskets on the spot, 'just in case.'
We also have fresh new crop DESIRABLE pecans and English walnuts. We have a good assortment of goodies... jams, popcorn, teas, relishes, plus wonderful oranges, grapefruit and tangerines. So stop in and see us.
George, my dream team and I want to wish you all a very Merry and Happy Christmas. May the reason for the season fill your hearts with joy and peace.
Hope to see you soon...travel safely...Mrs. A.

Since we're chatting vegetables, we have a huge assortment of fall/winter squash at the amazing price of $1 each for most. So eat up, get healthy so you can keep coming for apples and cider too!
